The official launch, held on Thursday, September 25th, at the Tusker Brew House, brought together media personalities, influencers, and entertainers for an electrifying industry night that gave fans a taste of what’s to come. And if the preview is anything to go by, Kenyans are in for a month-long celebration that blends beer, music, and culture in true Tusker style.
Breaking away from tradition, KBL is introducing a “deconstructed” format this year, designed to take the festival closer to consumers across the country. The new approach means Oktobafest isn’t just one grand event in Nairobi—it’s a rolling celebration, bringing the beer, music, and fun to fans wherever they are.
For Nairobi, the festival kicks off on October 4th at Carnivore Grounds with a nostalgic “Kulture” experience. Fans can expect a full throwback to the unforgettable sounds of 2000s Kenyan music, making it both a party and a cultural time capsule. The night promises to blend the essence of Tusker with the rhythms that shaped a generation.
Speaking during the launch, KBL’s Marketing Manager Mark Mugisha emphasized the vision behind the festival.
“In the six years of providing a platform to celebrate Kenyan beer and culture, we have built a phenomenal property with Oktobafest. This year, we are taking the festival to our consumers, allowing us to truly meet them where they are and deepen our social and economic impact across the country,” he said.
Acting Commercial Director Edward Kimathi added a business perspective, noting that the new approach opens doors for more partnerships and local involvement.
“This year’s deconstructed approach is about creating richer, more authentic experiences that resonate with our consumers. It also allows us to open up our value chain to a wider network of local service providers and talent. As a proud Kenyan brand, KBL remains committed to growing and supporting the local economy,” he said.
